Our Education Outside the Classroom programme is an integral part of our day to day life at CTMS.
We enthusiastically embrace the learning opportunities that Wellington City has on offer.
We are privileged to have an amazing learning resource right on the doorstep of our school. Our supportive and nurturing extended CTMS community allow us to utilise the city as an exciting and invigorating learning environment.
We have an in depth safety plan when it comes to our movement within the city. Students adhere to strict guidelines that ensures their safety crossing streets and using different facilities. To read more about our Guidelines for Out of School Trips, please click here.
Our city visits are a great way for parents to be involved in our day to day learning by supporting students and teachers as they move throughout the city.
We are regular visitors at;
Wellington Central Library
Our library visits help foster a love of reading, and also encourage research and information sharing. Students also learn about how the library works and the systems that it utilises.
Kelburn Park
Students quickly become familiar with Kelburn Park as we regularly gather there for sports.
We have a diverse sporting programme that teaches students a wide variety of skills and sport basics. We often invite sporting guests to join us for special instruction. In 2009 we had visits from members of The Wellington Phoenix (football), The Force (Netball), The Wellington Lions (Rugby), Kiwi Golf, etc
The Botanical Gardens
We all enjoy using this amazing resource! We use The Botanical Gardens for a variety of events and occasions. We go there for school picnics and to have special afternoons there in the playground and to play (and slide!) on the banks. We also hold the 'signing of the school agreement' celebration there.

"When our pupils are out and about in Wellington, they are recognised, and often receive compliments, for their pleasant and caring dispositions, self management (i.e. good behaviour), curiosity and intelligence. We are proud of the fact that our pupils understand how they should conduct themselves in different situation and that they are comfortable expressing their curiosity and demonstrating their intellectual ability." - Strategic Plan 2010
